Could you explain what you mean a little more on this. What do you mean by self
recovery. Give an example where you recover God and he recovers you please.
I can’t speak for Bishop Sheen and what he meant, and he is dead now so we can’t ask him either.
To me, it means that if you give yourself to God by loving him, you get God friendship, love, grace and guidance in return. In that way, you “recover God”. God recovers you because you give yourself to him again, after having left him for whatever reason. Kind of like the Prodigal Son story in the New Testament. God always waits and hopes that we come back to him, and then rejoices when we do.
