The Holy Father said in a recent homily (my translation of the Italian original);
“Whoever remains in God, whoever has been begotten by God, whoever remains in love, conquers the world and the victor is our faith. On our part, faith. On the part of God – through this ‘remaining’ – the Holy Spirit, who does this work of grace. On our part, faith. It is strong! This faith is the victor that has conquered the world; our faith! Our faith do all things! It is victory! It would be good for me to repeat it, even to us, because many times Christians are defeated. But the Church is full of defeated Christians, who do not believe this, that faith is the victory; who do not live this faith because if one does not live this faith, there is the defeater that conquers the world, the prince of the world.”
Once again, the Holy Father reminds us of the need to be joyful and confident in the Gospel! He challenges us to ask ourselves whether we really do believe the Gospel, for if we do, we are not defeated or discouraged. Our faith conquers the world.
